"The team at Cetra aims to bring together over 60 years of experience in the commercial real estate landscape with the increased flexibility and accountability of a boutique firm, according to its website.

The company will offer real estate advisory, brokerage and property management services to property owners, investors and businesses in the Twin Cities. That will include sales, leasing, acquisitions and dispositions in industrial, office, land and investment assets.

Despite a positive experience at Newmark, the brokers – Friedner, Chmieleski and Cullen – said they had wanted to launch their own firm now that it’s easier due to modern marketing tools and technology to advertise properties.

“We've worked for a couple different big international firms. We see how business is done. What we really wanted to do was bring that touch and expertise to a smaller shop,” Friedner said.

The company also has a better say in how to market properties and interact with clients, Cullen said.

“We feel like we can be very efficient and add a lot of speed to what we're doing because in our business, being able to react quickly, maybe sometimes [means] the difference of deals getting done or not getting done,” he said.

Cetra now occupies an office space in White Bear Lake, with plans to eventually grow the team."
